“I can’t express in words how AMAZING this place is. The Turtle Beach Sanctuary was truly the best experience we could’ve ever asked for. From incredible accommodations, breathtaking views, heart-warming hospitality and a purpose to help sea turtles nest and safely make it out to sea… What more can you ask for?! Turtle Beach Sanctuary will forever hold a special place in our heart. The bungalows are located on a private beach and each suite has a massive private balcony looking out onto the beautiful ocean. From the moment you arrive in Utila, the staff takes care of you. They met us at the ferry dock and brought us to the sanctuary. We were greeted by each staff member personally and getting to know the owners was such a highlight! They have staff there to take care of any and all needs while also providing such privacy that you feel like you’re the only people on the island. It is everything you want to make of it. We loved learning about the turtles and everything that the sanctuary does to ensure our oceans can be saved. My now fiancé proposed to me on the trip and the turtle beach sanctuary felt like we were already on a honeymoon. We rented a golf cart and it was a quick 7 minute drive into town. “This is a perfect place, a true slice of paradise. Quiet, calm days with white sands, palm trees and sounds of the ocean. The place is well appointed and furnished tastefully. Great ocean vistas and we would love to come when the turtles hatch. It is a bit ways from the Main Street and recommend you rent a moped or golf cart.
